I have always been interested in teaching and learning.  For over twenty years, I worked in north western British Columbia teaching at a community college.  Six years ago, I became a student again in the Languages, Cultures, and Literacies program in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University (SFU).  The program focuses on many forms of diversity in contemporary learning settings, a subject that greatly interests me.  I completed the doctoral program a little over a year ago while being engaged in various jobs and research projects at SFU.  Presently, I work at SFU as a Site Assistant to the Curriculum and Instruction Justice, Law and Ethics program.  I support students in that program with many academic requirements but mainly academic writing.  Being a life long learner is very important to me, and I am looking forward to the PID program.  Here is a link to Ann Meitz’s Blog, a fellow student in the PID program at VCC:
